How to remove your gel nail polish in 3 easy steps
We love a glossy gel mani, but when it’s time to say goodbye, you want to do it right. No peeling, no picking, and definitely no nail damage. Removing your gel polish at home is totally doable with a little patience and the right steps. Here’s how to take it off like a pro, in just 3 easy steps.
Step 1: for the Peel Off Base Coat (the only step)
Gently loosen the edge of the gel polish (for example with a wooden stick), optionally after a warm shower or with a bit of nail oil, then slowly peel it off to avoid damaging your nails.
Step 1: for the Base Coat: File the Top Coat
Start by gently buffing the surface of your nails with a nail file. This breaks the seal of the top coat so the remover can work its magic. Don’t over-file, just enough to take away the shine.
Step 2: Soak & Wrap
Soak a cotton pad in our soak it off liquid ColorMe – Soak It Off Liquid, place it on your nail, and wrap each fingertip in the reusable soak-off clips. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes while you scroll, snack or chill.
Step 3: Gently Push Off
After soaking, use the removal stick from the tool kit ColorMe – Tool Kit to gently push off the gel, it should lift easily. If it doesn’t, cover again for a few more minutes. Finish with a nourishing cuticle oil and hand cream. Hello, fresh nails.
Nail care = self-care
Removing your gel the right way keeps your natural nails strong, smooth and ready for their next glow-up. No damage, no stress, just happy, healthy nails.
